Clothes

Do you agree with these opinions?

An old friend

I met Fabio at school. We were teenagers, he was in his last year of school and I had two more years to go. We met through mutual friends who also studied at the same sschool.
Fabio and I became friends very quickly. We hit it off straightaway because we both liked the same music and we enjoyed reading bookd too. Also, we were both very bad at sports.
Late on I moved to a different city, and we didn't talk anymore, but we used to write letters to each other. Then the internet became popular and we started using email and online chat. It was fun!
Nowadays we don't meet often, but every time we meet we have a lagh. He is a father now and he has been working really hard, but he always has something interesting to say.

Someone important

One person who is very important to me is my friend Jessica. We met at college in Liverpool, 10 years ago. She lives in London now, and she is a vet, she loves taking care of animals, so she is very happy in her job. I don`t see her very frequently because of the distance, but we talk on the phone very often.

Jessica is very important for me because we can talk about anything and she always has good suggestions for me. Her best qualities are  she is a good listener, she has a great sense of humour and she is very helpful. There are two things I don`t like about her  she is not very organized and she is always late.

Frightened, in a dangerous situation or injured

Introduction
Let me tell you about an occasion when I felt realy frightened.
The background
It happened when I was a kid, I was in a farm where my uncle and aunt lived with their son, and where I used to go to on my holidays, because my cousin and I are about the same age. It was probably summer, because the weather was really hot.
The problem
My cousin and I were walking about the farm and we decided we should milk a cow, for some reason. When we got closer to the cow we noticed it wasn't a cow, but it was bull! And, to make matters worse, it started running after us!
How you felt
We were absolutely terrified! I don't think I've ever run so fast in my life!
The resolution
In the end we reached the house and told the adults the story. they laughed at us and made us promise to leave the animals alone in the future.

Get Personal!

I met my friend Fernando at school. I was walking to my class and he was doing the same, then he said something and we had a conversation about our friends in common and about or taste in music.
It was evening, because we both went to night school. Back then it was very common for every public school to have night classes. It was a warm evening, I remember that clearly because of our clothes:we were wearing jeans and T-shirt.
Fernando spoke first. I think his exact words were: 'hey, weren't you at Pri's house last weekend?' After that we became close friends and we remained for many years, until he moved to another city and we lost touch.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Languages_used_on_the_Internet
Antes disso, porém, compare o número de resultados pesquisando-se "idiomas utilizados online" e "languages used online":Screen Shot 2014-08-25 at 12.27.36 PM.png

Simples! "Have you ever been to..."

De forma simples, podemos dizer que "have you ever...?"

  • Have you ever been* to Bahia? (você já foi à Bahia?);
  • Have you ever written# a postcard? (você já escreveu um cartão postal?)

O vídeo abaixo contém vários exemplos de "have you ever" e, caso queira ver a tradução da música, basta clicar neste link.

*be - was/were - been
#write - wrote - written
